Thy name be honored

Lord's grace is abundant. It is His grace that makes us lives. Today is a very important day, since we work according to His schedule, not our schedule. Through prayer and bible reading, we get closer to God. Our chances of walking His path, carrying out His will is higher when we are close to God. May His will be done through us. May my prayer brings my loved one closer to God. Today I was given this conclusion when walking along Hennessey Road after getting off the bus.

Praise to the Lord.

Swimming

I had not go for swimming for almost 7 years. There is also at least 10 years between last time and the second last time, when I was still in secondary school. I bought a pair of new goggle two days ago. I just go to the swimming pool for 45 minutes. I did not swim much as I do not know how to swim anymore! It is a good experience anyway, doing something that you did well many many years ago. My purpose is doing what is right is God's eye. Building a healthy, strong and sound body is our job.

Today I read 2 Timothy and Titus. Praise to the Lord, from every small matter to big matter, God is playing a part in it.

不住的禱告

由07年9月起，每天都讀聖經，很快就會讀完第一次。我也在學事事向神禱告，不論是大事還是小事，總要不住的禱告，因為禱告就是邀請神介入，在事件中間作主。

對於那位我所關心的敬虔人，我不住地為她禱告。只願神有最好的時間表，事情怎樣發展，也是要順服於神的安排，神的恩典之中。

要不住的禱告。

神的軍裝

用真理當作帶子束腰，
用公義當作護心鏡遮胸，
用平安的福音、當作預備走路的鞋穿在腳上，
拿著信德當作籐牌、可以滅盡那惡者一切的火箭
戴上救恩的頭盔，
拿著聖靈的寶劍、就是神的道。

願那位與我同渡豐足週末的，常常在主中得著平安與喜樂。感謝神，賜我一個豐豐足足的星期六及星期日。

Movie:Click

Just finished this movie at home: Click. This is suggested by a FF in Church. What an inspiring movie! After the movie and look back at my own life, I, like many others on the world, may also put too much focus on our working life. After all, what is the purpose of working? Do we not have enough to live, to eat, or to wear? Why are so many people in the world chasing for fame, chasing for something that is meaningless? I am not saying work is emptiness. For there is a purpose in life, and it is to glorify God. If our work is on the path in glorifying God, it is not a problem. But if we mixed up the means and the purpose, and make chasing for emptiness becomes our purpose, we ended up in trouble, trouble that is beyond our imagination. For after the incident in 2007, I found life's purpose: first is glorifying God, second is family and friends. Money and career, though important, should not be above these two.

Quoting from Ecclesiastes:
Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgement, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil. (12:13-14)

Romans 9-16

今日讀完羅馬書9-16章，印象最深刻的有
"在指望中要喜樂，在患難中要忍耐。禱告要恆切。聖徒缺乏要幫補，客要一味的款待。"(12:12-13)及
"有人看這日比那日強，有人看日日都是一樣，只是各人心裡要意見堅定。守日的人、是為主守的。喫的人，是為主喫的，因他感謝神、不喫的人、是為主不喫的，也感謝神。我們沒有一個人為自己活，也沒有一個人為自己死。我們若活著，是為主而活，若死了，是為主而死。所以我們或活或死，總是主的人。因此基督死了，又活了，為要作死人並活人的主。"(14:5-9)

中午一個人在再興食叉燒飯，雖然地方很窄，但叉燒好好食。

Romans 1-8

Reading 8 chapters of Romans is really tiring. Paul's description of God, His righteousness, our sin, faith, and His Grace are all so comprehensive. Reading Bible has now become part of my life. Or should I say: my life is part of the Bible?

I bought 2 Apple jeans today. Each is around four hundred to five hundred. I only notice the bill adds up to $999 when I paid. Any meaning here?

Lastly, Love is patience, Love is kind......Yes, patience. For whatever that means. Let me learn how to be more patience, and wait for His direction.

Pray for my loved one

Prayers. Through prayers, man communicates with God. God is amazing. Isn't He the one who created all things: universe, galaxy, stars, suns, moon, earth, land, sea, plants, animals and man? Isn't His power greater than anything else man can imagine? Why are we demanding Him to act as according to what we want? Shouldn't we let Him decide, plan and act, and then we follow Him? Faith is amazing. Faith is from God.

I am learning how to be obedience to Lord Almighty. May His kingdom come, and His glory be done on earth as it is in heaven. May He send peace and joy to my loved one.

Lastly, I finished His Old Testament (except Proverbs) this morning!!

天國與財利---葛霖論金融市場

這本書由二零零六年升任匯豐控股集團行政總裁的葛霖所著，中文版在零七 (07) 年推出，而其實英文原著早在九六年已出版，當時他為匯控集團司庫，負責全球財資及資本市場業務。書本內容固然與及金融市場有關，但亦適合非從事金融行業的在職人士閱讀。

作者自八二年加入匯控，到現在已有廿六個年頭，論到對全球金融業過去的發展，機遇與挑戰，又有誰比葛霖更清楚明白呢？作者透過簡潔的文字，叫在職人士有更深的反省，反思自己為什麼在現在的職位工作，工作的目的是什麼，工作的意義，又是為了什麼。金融行業給人印象是高薪厚職，分秒必爭的戰場，作者正是利用從事金融業工作的人為例，來顯明我們要明白工作在賺取報酬以外，更重要的生命意義。

書中亦論及近兩百年的世界發展，結果是自工業革命之後，出現了兩種社會發展的模式；一是資本主義的市場經濟，二是社會主義的計劃經濟。兩者都不是 『完美』，而蘇聯瓦解及中國的掘起，亦證明了市場經濟較計劃經濟優勝。一般人認為在金融行業工作的人滿身銅臭味，只顧一己私利，而整個金融世界因為『充斥』著這些人，金融市場也不是個『潔淨』的地方。作者卻肯定地表達，沒有制度是盡善盡美的，而市場主導的發展是我們最好的選擇，好比『兩害取其輕』。市場本身沒有善惡之分，我們要做的應該是以規則，條例，去監控市場的運作，好比任何遊戲都有既定的遊戲規則一樣。

其中第三章較多金融行業的述語，用以把金融世界顯現在讀者面前，本人從事金融工作近十年，亦未能完全理解當中每個情節，一般讀者可以先輕輕略過第三章，因為真正的好戲是在第四章及之後。

其實，金融世界裡的股票價格、債券價格、外匯價格、商品價格，都只是千千萬萬人買賣決定的結果，正因為買賣是由人作決定，市場的價格不能以數學或科學確實地推算出來，市場上亦沒有任何人，可以用任何公式，絕對肯定地推算出未來的價格。現今傳媒的報導，過份把價格變化背後的原因簡單化，令大眾誤以為價格升跌皆有簡單易解的原因。事實上，市場每天都有好消息，每天也有壞消息，價格上升時，傳媒自然會報導好消息，價格下跌時，亦合用壞消息作為價格下跌的理由。讀者在此書中要尋找的，其實是在職場工作的意義，還有生命的優先次序﹕我們應該把信仰放在第一位，而不是把工作放在第一位。

太初有道，道與神同在，道就是神

小弟在近日初讀聖經之餘，也偶然打開「論語」看看。

子曰﹕「 吾十有五而志於學，三十而立，四十而不惑，五十而知天命，六十而耳順，七十而從心所欲，不逾矩。」(為政第二)
子曰：「 朝聞道，夕死可矣。」(里仁第四)

第一節是人生中什麼時刻時的心態，最終是順命。
第二節更是人所共知，孔子也謙卑說不知道什麼是真道，所以才這樣感慨。

而聖經就有答案，「太初有道，道與神同在，道就是神。《約1:1》」。身為基督徒真是有福，真有福氣，因為就是孔夫子也未知道的，基督徒也知道了。看英文譯本有更多發現，"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." 英文的用字是"Word"，中文卻取其意思而用「道」一字，而非「字」一字。在中國人眼中，「道」是比「字」更有道理，更有意思，所以中文譯本才用「道」一字? 希臘文中的用字又是什麼?

大衛向神認罪

近3個月每天讀聖經，近日讀到撒母耳記上及下，從掃羅及大衛兩位人物上領略不少神的話語。而且，有線電視15台的創世電視中亦講解到掃羅及大衛，同時親身閱讀，又有正確的講解，對明白神的話語有很大的幫助。

大衛犯的錯，不比掃羅少。至少掃羅沒有奪人妻子，更沒有加害其夫君。但神選擇大衛，要大衛做王，背棄掃羅。為什麼? 原來神愛大衛是因為他會認罪，及有敬畏耶和華的心。我們每個人都犯過罪，但是我們要做的，就是在神面前認罪，承認自己的過失。而且我們更要愛神，不是神需要我們愛祂，而是我們愛神的時候，我們也蒙褔了。

得救是從主來的，恩典是從主來的，信心是從主來的，所有的都是我們白白的收。我們還要計較什麼呢? 願未信主耶穌的您也可得著這份平安! 已信的弟兄姊妹，您知我在說什麼吧!

李高人教，見步行步與行步見步的分別。見步行步已是難，每一步都要小心翼翼，見一步決定下一步怎樣行。行步見步更難，雖然見不到，但仍然要行出去，深信主耶穌基督會愛我們，保護我們，所以我們就算看不見，也可以藉信靠主而行出去。不要擔心，行了出去，神就會讓我們看見。

<品三國.上>及<品人錄>

一口氣讀完易中天先生的<品三國.上>及<品人錄>，兩本書都是有關中國古代歷史人物，而兩書亦有其不同的著眼點。首先， <品三國>是論三國時代的英雄人物，讀後令我既學會正史，又對曹操、劉備、孫權、孫策、孔明、周瑜及其他三國人物有更多認識，更清楚明白 <三國志>是歷史，而<三國演義>則只是小說，明白兩者的分別。當中更以對曹操的用人之道深感興趣，他的用人的智慧在二千年後的今天仍然用得著。例如，曹操作為統帥，從不和部下爭面子，搶風頭，總是把功勞歸於部下。<三國志>則用16字，"官方授材，各因其器，矯情任算，不念舊惡"。意思是知人善任，唯才所宜，招降納叛，盡釋前嫌。更進一步，又可把知人善任分為3個層次，一是知哪些人是人材，二是知他們是哪個方面和哪個類型的人材，三是知道把他們放在哪個位置最合適。

< 品人錄>則分為五個部份，分別討論項羽、曹操、武則天、海瑞及雍正。因為五個人物生在不同的朝代，討論的視野更闊，話題更廣，又為這五位人物及他們身邊的人作比較，例如項羽與劉邦、劉邦與韓信、康熙與雍正、武則天與狄仁杰。當中亦以武則天、海瑞及雍正的章節帶出中國的政治、中央集權、專制制度及人與制度的相互關係，最後更論及"人治"、"德治"及"法治"背後的道德觀。看完兩本書後，更加明白天下事都在乎於人，要學會曹操的用人，劉邦的知人，也要有雍正"以不爭為全爭"的度量及手段。
